The work is based on the paradigm that we all come to this planet to grow in sprit and knowledge and as we grow we contribute to the over-all good of humanity. With a clearer view of the details of our mission or contract we can move forward with more comfort and efficiency.
About Polly Grant
My life’s journey has been fueled by a need to KNOW
…not really understanding the feeling or what it meant. Early on I was drawn to philosophy and psychology in my early college days. During the years I was raising my children I continued with some formal education as well as random reading of diverse authors like Ram Dass, Sam Sheen, Carl Jung, William Shirer, Richard Bach and Stephen Hawkin and many others.
When my children were older I decided to go back to work and looked for something along the lines of my interest of just what makes people tic. This led me to “Polygraph”. I went to school and became a certified polygraph examiner; found although I could do this very well and had a good aptitude for this work, I was very uncomfortable with the invasive factor into the lives of the people I had to run test on. So after only conducting a few tests I gave this up, took a job in the human resources area for about twenty-five years in different jobs holding various positions.
In 1977 I was ordained into the ministry of a little new thought church, as my interest in metaphysics and the newly forming area of energy medicine drew me into this world. During the 1980’s I did some work with color in the area of color psychology, during this decade, I discovered Reiki and became a Reiki practitioner.
When the time came for me to think about leaving a forty hour a week job, I did not really want to retire, I wanted to find something I could work at very hard for a few years and do less work as time went by. So some sort of little business seemed in order. Caroline Myss said in one of her books “You may be lead to lead an ordinary life in an ordinary neighborhood just because that place needs the light you can bring." This struck a cord with me and I felt I could do that while running a Bed and Breakfast. In 1999 I found a lovely old Victorian in a small Northern California town in wine country and started my little B&B business. I felt I had found my place of service at last and settled down into being an Innkeeper. After a couple of years cash flow slowed way down and it became clear I needed to supplement the income. I sought guidance through prayer and meditation just about constantly. One day while reading an e-mail news letter from Caroline Myss I discovered she was going to give courses to teach people to teach “Sacred Contracts”.
The book had sold very well, however people found they could not find their contracts on their own and many, many people contacted her office asking for referrals to someone who could help them…thus CMED was born (Caroline Myss Education). I enrolled and over a two year period, earned my certification for teaching “Sacred Contracts” It was indeed pleasant to conduct workshops at the Inn, as setting the time aside to do work on their contracts, people found they could get down to the core of it very well. As lovely as this work was, cash flow did not increase enough, and I found I could not keep the Inn going. Once the decision to sale the Inn was made, everything flowed in perfect harmony. I now feel that I can answer my service best giving all my energy to teaching and counseling: "It is my clear intention to bring the wealth of many years of the teachings I have been privileged to experience, to as many people as I can."
