Dear Cheryl,
Swans

We have great news about our final three events before we close our doors on June 25. First, it's not too late to RSVP for Kimberly Berg. Second, by request, our "Art as Lifework" series is now available for individual session registration. Finally, we have added live music to our great line up of entertainment for the Helping Hands event. Please read on...

Thanks to all of you who have expressed your appreciation for our little store and the events we've hosted over the past couple of years. These are our last three offerings, and we look forward to sharing them with you.

Kimberly
We still have a couple of spots left available for our final group session with Psychic Kimberly Berg on Saturday, June 9 at 5pm. Kimberly has been named the "American Idol Psychic" by Entertainment Tonight, has been featured in W magazine, and in many other television and print media. In her every appearance at The Blissful Soul, each participant has received a personal, provocative and insightful reading from Kimberly. We invite you to join us for one last mind-blowing opportunity to seek guidance from your guides as channeled by Kimberly Berg.

The cost is just $30 per participant. Proceeds from this event will benefit the El Marino Language School in West Los Angeles.

GLAD has been improving the lives of the deaf and hard of hearing since its creation as a volunteer organization in 1969. The GLAD facility located in Eagle Rock is home to numerous and crucial programs of GLAD including human services, health education, low-income senior housing, communication assistance, employment development, public relations and more. Funds raised will help assist with the substantial mortgage of the facility and assist with the building's current extensive repairs and maintenance.

GLAD occupies the former Women's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU) Retirement Home, a historical landmark. The building was built in 1927 and was used by the WCTU and its members until declining membership forced it to close. The WCTU building went up for sale in 1989, with many offers to tear down the building and develop the site resulting. In 1991 The Eagle Rock Association stepped in and successfully petitioned to have the site designated an historic landmark, thus preserving the building and grounds. GLAD took over the property in 1993 and converted it into a deaf-friendly working and residential environment.

We have received many questions about Clearance Sales, and rest assured that we will have them -- right after our Helping Hands fundraiser. We want to raise funds for this most worthy organization before we start clearing our shelves.

Our clearance sale will begin on Monday, June 18 and continue through Sunday, June 24. We are also selling all furnishings, including the beautiful tin furniture that was custom designed for its previous owners, John & Ross (or "the guys" for those of you who knew them). Let us know if you have an interest in anything you may see in our store. Several music teachers from Dr. Music will be taking over our space for music lessons starting July 1. They won't have much need for most of our displays, so we'd like to see everything find a cherished new home.

Though our remaining days are few, we still have GREAT PARKING available:

  • Weekdays between 1:00 and 3:00
  • Saturdays 1:00 to 5:00
  • Sundays Noon to 4:00pm

Blessings,

Cheryl, Shirley, and Pam
